Technology in Africa and Europe
How can the differences in advanced technology in Africa and Europe in the 19th century be explained?
Instead of saying "how can you explain", i think it would sound better if you said "how can the differences be explained", or something along those lines because it sounds like your whole essay is going to be in second person by saying "you".
Interesting topic BUT you only have 3 weeks and 3-5 pages to develop a good argument. It will be very difficult, if not impossible, to address 2000 years of technological development across two continents in this time and space. You could look at patterns of industrialization in Britain in the 19th century and compare it to industrialization in an African state in the 20th century.
