Geography in Great Britain and Japan
How has geography affected the economies of Great Britain and Japan during the 20th century?
I think this is a really good idea for question because a lot of information could be found for it. It is also concise and to the point, encompassing everything Mrs. Friday said to do!

Interesting question. Diamond addressed this issue in GGS and the development of Japan and Britain are often compared. I would focus your topic a bit more. For example, select specific countries to be addressed.
